12 good reasons and advantages to move in
The hall of residence, Johannes Kepler Haus, offers the many advantages. It is an ideal environment for successful study at the university. The dorm is centrally located in a green area with Leech Forrest as its closest “neighbour”. You will enjoy a nice stay as a member of a young and international community.
1. Familiar Atmosphere
Our suites are designed to be very communicative. There is a spacious common area in the middle of the suite and the individual rooms are situated around this room. So when you open the door to your room, you are immediately part of the community. (No small corridors with rooms on the left and the right and the common area at the end.)
2. Quiet Surroundings
Traditional shared rooms can become a nightmare. In the suite, you can simply close your door and you have peace and quiet. If you would like to sit in the garden or on our rooftop terrace - no problem. We have a beautifully planted and furnished rooftop terrace and nice seating areas in the garden provide a cosy place to hang out together.
3. Complete Furnishings
As the rooms are furnished with a desk, chair, bed and walk-in closet and shelf, it is possible to move in at any time without a lot of effort. That way you save yourself the hassle and a lot of money.
4. Individual Design
Our rooms offer plenty of individual creative freedom. Get settled in and decorate your room as you please. That way you will feel right at home and not like you are in a hotel.
5. Modern Spaces
Studying in groups is especially advantageous before exams. But where? Often there are no rooms at the university; it’s too loud in a café and in the library you can’t talk. This is why we have a study room for effective learning - alone or in groups. Fast internet access is naturally available throughout the residence (inside and outside).
6. Optimal Location
You live in the city – yet you are surrounded by nature with Leech Forrest as your closest ‘neighbour’. There are bike trails at the doorstep and the tram station is 150 m from the residence. For sports enthusiasts there are kilometre-long forest running trails at the doorstep. And our district is one of the safest in all of Graz.
7. No Hidden Costs
At Johannes Kepler Haus, all additional costs (incl. water, heat, room cleaning, high-speed internet access inside and outside, parking space) are included in the residence fees. There are no “hidden” costs.
8. Soundproof Music Room
Free music practice rooms are rare at the university. If you study at the music or art university, or would simply like to make some music – no problem. We have a modern music room in which you can always practice.
9. Group Activities
You are part of an open-minded hall of residence. You quickly meet other students, get settled in and make important contacts for your life and future career. The annual introduction excursion is an important event, where young and old residents get to know each other at the beginning of the academic year.
10. Valuable Extras
The residence offers parking spaces for your car and your bike (included in residence fee). Washing and drying facilities are provided in the laundry room. Any delivered packages can conveniently be picked up in the office. You don’t have to run to the next post office. If you have problems with the internet – we are there to help quickly and efficiently!
11. Friends from Around the World
Learn and have fun together, support and motivate each other – with interesting people from around the world in an international hall of residence.
12. Assistance with All Questions
We are always there for our residents! Should you have questions or difficulties – just drop by. We are happy to help you and we always find a solution.
